Swarms of police have gathered in the car park outside Ikea at Giltbrook Retail Park this morning ahead of a drugs raid operation in nearby Eastwood.
Nine marked police cars and vans, as well as two unmarked vehicles, arrived at the retail park for 7.30am.
A total of 40 officers have carried out raids at various addresses in the Eastwood area this morning in a bid to make four arrests as part of Operation Reacher.
Reacher is designed to react dynamically to community concerns and build trust and confidence that the police will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with residents to make communities safer.
Officers left Giltbrook Retail Park at 8am and have already made two arrests – one male in Moon Crescent, Eastwood, and another in Hilltop Rise, Newthorpe.
According to officers at the scene, a further two suspects are believed to be hiding in other addresses in the Eastwood area.
Nottinghamshire Live reporter Anna Whittaker has been out following the operation in an unmarked car with Operation Reacher Rushcliffe Sergeant James Ross. They attended three addresses – Cultivation Road, Scargill Walk and Princes Street.
