Here are some ways YOU can make a difference in our community for Christmas:
DONATE to Jubilee Christmas which will be serving families with 360 children, birth through age 15, with toys, food, personal care and household items. Checks may be written to: Daviess County Partnership with Jubilee Christmas in the memo line, P.O. Box 1014, Washington IN 47501.
VOLUNTEER to ring a bell for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign at the Washington Walmart. The Salvation Army helps locally with basic needs such as rent, utilities, medicine, school supplies, etc. The available times for ringing are: Monday-Friday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Please call 812-642-4836 to schedule a time or go to registertoring.com and sign up online.
DONATE to “Cops and Kids” which serves over 100 students from Head Start in Washington and Four Rivers’ KidStuff Development Preschool. Donations will be accepted in person or by mail at the police and sheriff departments in Daviess County. Make check payable to FOP Cops and Kids. DONATE A COAT and/or BLANKET at the Washington Post Office — items are distributed at the Feed My Sheep food giveaway on Dec. 19.
DONATE NEW TOYS to First National Bank, Odon, Montgomery, Elnora — which go to families in need in the North Daviess and southeastern Daviess County areas.
