Tracey Horner, head of Lendwithcare, has sent a video message of thanks to Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club.
Lendwithcare is part of CARE International UK and in her communication to the club Tracey highlighted the hardships faced by small-scale entrepreneurs and the low-income households that depend on them.
“The hardships have been unthinkable this year, but thankfully most have managed to survive and with Rotary support in 2021, and beyond, they will continue to thrive,” she said.
“I always have the pleasure at this time of year of pulling together all of the fantastic entrepreneur thank you clips kindly provided by our local partners, and this year is no exception.
“I hope Rotarians enjoy watching this film and I am sure the messages from entrepreneurs will raise their spirits as they did mine.
“Finally, it is thank you so much again for all the loans you have made and the lives you have changed this year.
“We could not reach as many entrepreneurs around the world without your support.”
The club has now loaned a total of £1,500 to the Lendwithcare organisation since September 2013.
This has resulted in 136 short term loans being made to entrepreneurs in countries around the world through Lendwithcare.
The loans have not only helped 1,019 entrepreneurs with their work, but also 3,811 family members as well as creating 1,157 jobs.
Rotarian Chris Allsop, chair of the club’s international committee, said: “Members of Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club are delighted to have been able to help change people’s lives thanks to the generosity of local donations.
“Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club still has £144.83 ready to make further loans through Lendwithcare which has a list of 47 prospective entrepreneurs applying for a loan.
“It is good news that we have such a choice.
“The content of the video link is to all of us.”
