A pet owner is desperate to find his dog that was stolen over the weekend, writes Ellie Danemann.
James Ashworth’s dog was stolen from the boot of his car on Little Corkhill Farm, Kirklington, on Saturday afternoon.
Polly, a three-year-old springer spaniel, is small, brown and white.
James said: “I live on a farm and parked the car with the boot open and she was asleep.
“I don’t know if I was followed, that’s the trouble.
“She is a pretty calm dog and you don’t expect her to run off.”
James has been in touch with nearby vets and dog homes to see if they know anything.
He has also posted on Facebook, with his appeal being shared more than 7,200 times.
James added: “It has upset the whole family.
“Everyone and the people I work with are upset about the situation.”
If you have any information on the whereabouts of Polly, contact James on Facebook or at ashworths@hotmail.co.uk
