The Bacup Now Tablet Appeal is proving very successful thanks to the generosity of businesses and the community.
The community group is now in the process of distributing tablets to care homes initially in Bacup, Rossendale, Lancashire and as the appeal progresses, devices will be offered to others.
The first devices have been presented this week, just in time for Mother’s Day. Here are the recipients and the names of the device sponsors, courtesy of the bacupnow.wordpress.com page.
The Laurels Nursing & Residential Care Home have received two new tablets donated by Dansworks Dance Academy of Performing Arts and Tesco, Rawtenstall.
Catherine Connor, manager of The Laurels, said the residents are really looking forward to using the new tablets.
Olive House Home for Older People have received two new tablets donated by METIS HR and Ann Hyde, from Bacup. Olive House has three wings – two have tablets – and the two new devices will be used in its third wing.
